RECPnet operates as a global networking initiative that brings together organizations professionally involved in, and committed to, the promotion and implementation of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in developing and transition countries. The network is facilitated and supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).
Members of RECPnet comprise officially recognized organizations or initiatives that deliver as a core activity RECP services in developing and/or transition economies and commit to cooperate beyond an exclusive profit motive in the spirit of international collaboration, knowledge exchange and professional excellence.
RECPnet has three membership categories, the specific rights and obligations of which are defined in the RECPnet Charter’s Membership By-Law as follows:
In order to join as a Member of RECPnet, applicants are required to submit the completed application form for Regular, Observer or Associate membership, including an endorsement of the RECPnet Charter and its Membership and Code of Conduct By-Laws, accompanied by a reference file with documentation supporting compliance with the eligibility criteria.
The application form, including all relevant supporting documentation, should be sent by e-mail to the RECPnet Secretariat via: recpnet@unido.org
Each application is reviewed by two members of RECPnet’s Executive Committee, who will put a recommendation for membership before the full Executive Committee for endorsement. Applicants are informed on the outcome of their membership application in line with the meetings schedule of the Executive Committee.
