Membership Benefits

  • Members of RECPnet join a dedicated international network of over 70 leading RECP service providers to exchange knowledge, best practice and expertise, and to work together on the advancement of RECP around the world
  • Every two years, all RECPnet members are invited to the Global Network Conference on RECP, a one-of-a-kind global forum bringing together top RECP professionals, United Nations officials, representatives of donor governments and institutions, and international development stakeholders
  • All RECPnet Members gain full access to technical and sector-specific information on RECP concepts, methods, policies, best practices and technologies
  • RECPnet members are eligible for participation – and potentially funding – for capacity-building activities and training courses, in order to enhance the service delivery of their organizations
  • Regular and Associate Members are eligible to deliver contracted services under the joint UNIDO-UNEP Global Programme on RECP in Developing and Transition Countries
  • Members of RECPnet are also invited to bi-annual meetings of their respective Regional Chapters, to galvanize knowledge transfer, networking and joint actions to scale up and mainstream RECP at a regional level

Types of Membership

RECPnet operates as a global networking initiative that brings together organizations professionally involved in, and committed to, the promotion and implementation of Resource Efficient and Cleaner Production (RECP) in developing and transition countries. The network is facilitated and supported by the United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO) and the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP).

Members of RECPnet comprise officially recognized organizations or initiatives that deliver as a core activity RECP services in developing and/or transition economies and commit to cooperate beyond an exclusive profit motive in the spirit of international collaboration, knowledge exchange and professional excellence.

RECPnet has three membership categories, the specific rights and obligations of which are defined in the RECPnet Charter’s Membership By-Law as follows:

Applying for Membership

In order to join as a Member of RECPnet, applicants are required to submit the completed application form for Regular, Observer or Associate membership, including an endorsement of the RECPnet Charter and its Membership and Code of Conduct By-Laws, accompanied by a reference file with documentation supporting compliance with the eligibility criteria.

Each application is reviewed by two members of RECPnet’s Executive Committee, who will put a recommendation for membership before the full Executive Committee for endorsement. Applicants are informed on the outcome of their membership application in line with the meetings schedule of the Executive Committee.
