12-14 July 2016 – Siem Reap, Cambodia
The RECPnet Asia-Pacific (ASP) Regional Chapter Meeting took place from 12-14 July 2016, in Siem Reap, Cambodia. The meeting brought together the ASP members of the global network for the following purpose:
- Boost implementation of the RECPnet Operational Strategy
- Enhance cooperation amongst RECPnet Members in the region
- Improve access to information through Knowledge Exchange amongst RECPnet Members
- Develop further capacities on emerging topics and approaches (e.g. eco-innovation)
- Discuss emerging opportunities and challenges as a basis for future activities of RECPnet within the region
- Position RECPnet members as qualified partners for the implementation of the 10YFP and the 2030 Agenda and strengthening their cooperation with SCP National Focal Points in the region.
A number of highly relevant case studies and RECP experiences were presented by the Chapter’s members throughout the course of the meeting, spurring interest from the Chapter and laying the foundation for potential future collaboration activities between members. The topics of capacity building, eco-industrial parks, and sustainable development were addressed by Thematic Working Groups formed from members of the Chapter.
The meeting also featured a seminar on Eco-Innovation, led by UNEP, the Asian Institute of Technology Viet Nam, CSS Viet Nam and SIRIM Berhad Malaysia.
